Dr Raby Bio:

Dr Raby is a graduate of the University of Montreal.  She has been practicing optometry in Alexandria since she graduated in 2000.  She provides comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages and has a special interest in the treatment and management of ocular disease.  In addition to her work at the clinic, she has lectured for the Glengarry Encore Society, she has done seminars for local physicians and nurses regarding the treatment and management of common eye diseases, and she has trained nurses to provide eye screenings in local schools.  She is the Lead Assessor for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and she is committed to Optometry Giving Sight, a non-profit organization aimed at reducing blindness in third world countries.

Dr. Josh Smith Bio:

Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 2013 with his Doctor of Optometry degree and joined Dr. Raby & Associates in July of that year. Dr. Smith is a passionate promoter of the importance of primary eye care and the role optometrists play in the visual and general health of the patients they serve. He is currently the President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, having served on the Board of Directors since 2014, and has also served on the Council of the Canadian Association of Optometrists from 2014 to 2018. Dr. Smith is also currently a consultant at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital, working primarily with patients in the Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Program. Preventing blindness and improving sight around the world is also an important priority of Dr. Smith’s. He has participated in health care mission trips in Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Jamaica, and has an upcoming trip planned to Ghana in late 2018.
